Before the holidays, some five hundred customers, VIPs and community friends accepted the invitation by First National Bank of South Miami for an exclusive opportunity to take a photo with the authentic Stanley Cup as the bank celebrated the Chicago Blackhawks.
First National Bank of South Miami is a member of the Wirtz Family of Companies which includes ownership of the Chicago Blackhawks, NHL World Champions for 1934, 1938, 1961, 2010, 2013 & 2015.
The prized and legendary Stanley Cup arrived to the bank from Miami International Airport in a sealed container from the back of a black herse where it was welcomed by the Wirtz family members and bank officials. As guests arrived to the rear of the bank, they were treated to a tail gate of hot dogs and treats. Guests lined up along the stanchioned interior of the bank for the opportunity to have a picture taken and then be greeted by W. Rockwell “Rocky” Wirtz, Chairman and President of First Miami Bancorp, who graciously signed team photos, hockey pucks and more for the appreciative guests. Some guests were more expressively enthusiastic in touching the trophy than others.
Stanley in SOMI was a singularly unique event and the community appreciates the largesse of the Wirtz family in organizing such a spectacular and fun time.
