SUMMER FASHION FRENZY

As we approach the hottest months of the year, fashion breathes deep and dazzles in the sunlight as we bring you our seasonal trend forecast for summer 2018. With an easy transition from spring to summer we see our future set in ruffled shades of pastels, bright shining sequins, and sensually sheer fabrics. Follow along as we dissect a seamless summer season in an array of fabrics and textures.

Whether a lovely lilac, primrose pink, citric lemon or Robins egg blue, expect to see a kaleidoscope of the prettiest pastel shades for this summer season. Delicacy is most definitely the ‘STRONG’ look for this season, with a soft take to usual silhouettes like we saw at Prada. Consider fine tailoring in pastel hues or wearing them in layered or unexpected ways like at Celine.  We also got a nice glimpse of ruffles which added a feminine yet dramatic edge this season, with designers like Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, and Valentino all incorporating them in their shows line up. Dainty layered chains and stackable bangles add to the look.

To say sequins and sparkles will be a big deal this summer 2018 is an understatement. In every fashion capital, glittered gowns prevailed, starting with Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dior and Chanel. Style yours with a pair of hoop earrings and sweatshirt to give your look daytime longevity or a complimenting pump and evening bag for a clean easy evening look.

Transparency was a headlining trend in sheer coats, dresses and skirts with revealing cycling shorts or full briefs. Basically, it’s all about what lies beneath next season, as demonstrated at Dior. Consider it a more demure take on the ubiquitous naked dress. The clean sheer aspect was recurring on various runways Rochas and Prabal Gurung. A very elegant way to accessories this barely there look is a stunning pair of statement earrings and matching cocktail ring.

Keeping the summer fun flowing in these light and airy looks will have you on the top of the style charts while turning on looking heads.
