The office building which housed Bank United at 6075 Sunset Drive is now demolished to make way for a new mixed use development of apartments, retail and restaurant spaces.  . A total of 203 upscale residential units will be on the upper levels of the building and the ground floor level of the northern portion of the building. The unit mix consists of town homes, studios, and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units  The building will be eight stories in height along Sunset Drive and plans call for a canopy of trees and plaza setting along Sunset Drive for outdoor dining.

Below, the ground level of the designated historic building at 5850 Sunset Drive is being gutted to accommodate a marijuana dispensary – a historic first!  Pictured on the right is the rehab on the building on 71 Street which housed Mario’s Dry Cleaners since 1980.  A restaurant is planned for that space.

You can follow these developments in later editions of SOMI Magazine.
