Scholastic Awards honoree Sabrina Linares with

The SOUTH MIAMI K-8 CENTER EXPRESSIVE ARTS MAGNET presented two evenings of their Annual Art Show hosted at The Datran Center.  The first night (Tuesday, May 14) saw the visual art work of the 6, 7 & 8 graders, with the second night (Wednesday, May 15) reserved for the talented
3, 4 & 5 graders.

Parents, teachers, students and their friends indulged their senses with exemplary works of art created by these accomplished young artists.

BEST IN THE NATION

Sabrina Linares artwork was recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.  In a national competition Sabrina earned a Gold Key in regionals, and later a National Gold Medal, and Best in Grade, that means  the BEST art piece in the nation amongst all 8th grade students.)   http://www.artandwriting.org/the-awards/  Now in its 90th year the Scholastic Awards program provides opportunities for recognition and scholarships to even more creative students across the country.

On Friday, May 31, she will be honored in New York’s Carnegie Hall and a live webcast in Times Square.  Sabrina  receives a scholarship and national recognition. Sabrina and her family will be there to receive this singular award along with her art K-8 art teachers. Congratulations Sabrina!
