On June 7th a new generation of tabacaleros was christened with the brand opening of Young Tabacaleros hosted at SOMI’s Cigar Cellar and Lounge. Julio Iglesias and Ignacio Pigna, childhood friends and now college freshmen launched their brand with a crowd of young twenty-year olds.

Over the years Julio spent time on the tobacco farms in Honduras, where his family had a revered tradition in the tobacco business.  He introduced Ignacio to the cigar industry during high school, and together they forged a bond and enjoyed having personal conversations with a cigar in hand. Over the past few years, Ignacio joined Julio in Honduras where he became fully indoctrinated to the process.

In starting their own brand, their aim is “to develop cigars that will define the upcoming generation of cigar smokers.”
