GARCIA-NEVETT DAY

Wednesday, August 5th, Venezuelan sisters Susan and Isable Garcia Nevett observed what has become the annual “Garcia Nevett Day” a recognition first given to them by the South Miami City Commission last year upon the national recognition given to them. The sisters have spent more than a decade perfecting their Chocolatier skills. Applying artisanal and European techniques blended with premium Venezuelan cacao and chocolate, they now provide the most award-winning chocolate in Miami.
On June 24th, Venezuela was hit by its worst earthquake in over 125 years. For this year’s Garcia-Nevett Day, they prepared a special box of their chocolates, nine handcrafted chocolates inspired by Venezuelan flavors, with 100% of the proceeds directly to Alimenta la Solidaridad. The message was clear: We Come from Venezuela. This One Is for Them. Every box purchased goes to feed a child.

THE BEST NETWORKING BREAKFAST EVENT IN MIAMI!
For those who know Grant Miller of Community Newspapers, you could hear him shout this statement from the roof tops! Brothers Michael and Grant Miller have built a great regular event at CasaCuba: Coffee and Pastelitos with (fill in the blank). And there’s no charge for the event; local businesses, such as Dade County Federal Credit Union sponsor each program. The firm Colson & Hicks sponsored the Jolly/Graham event.
Recently they hosted David Jolly and Gwen Graham, Democratic candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor. Other events in the recent months include meeting Miami Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, honoring ZOO Miami’s Ron Magill, hearing from senate candidate Alex Vindmann, meeting new School Board Superintendent Ralph Villalobos, and a host of other “in the news” personalities in the Miami area.

Attended by community leaders and civic minded businessmen (and women!) the networking events kick off at 7:30 and end at 9:00. There are photo ops with the presenters at the start.
