Prior to his untimely passing, Police Chief René had planned to present Hans with a plaque recognizing his support to the Explorers.  At the meeting, the Chief presented the plaque to Laurie and J.P. Huseby.  And with his passing, a new plaque memorializing Huseby, is to be hung in the Police Headquarters, will recognize the Police Explorer of the Year, a new award to be presented annually in John “Hans” Huseby’s name.

At the conclusion of the presentations, Laurie and J.P. presented Chief Landa with a $7,200 check for the Police Explorers, representing memorial donations made in John “Hans” Huseby’s name.
