LIGHT UP MIAMI

On Saturday, March 7th, CIGAR CELLAR & LOUNGE hosted its second annual mega cigar event.  Last year, it was held at Pinecrest Gardens; this year, the co-presenters decided to bring the event into SOMI.  From 3 to 9pm, cigar aficionados gathered in giant tented seating where the event featured 16 premier cigar labels and 7 spirits including top shelf rums and scotches.

Adjacent restaurant Sports Grill served up BBQ wings cooking them on a grill under a tent.

Featured at the event, celebrity biker chef David ‘Big Swole’ Rose cooked up some mean southern favorites.  His T.L.C. (tapas, libations, cigars) inspired menu for the event included: Mojo braised pork with a duo of sauces (Macallan 12 scotch and date fruit reduction & a roasted red pepper chimmichurri.) and a charred corn relish; Cajun shrimp with a chorizo Orleans cream sauce and creamy parmesan grits; and maple grilled paprika dusted salmon with a charred pineapple Ron Abuelo rum infused salsa and pineapple coconut Ron Abuelo rum cream sauce.

And while “Dark n Stormy” were served up at the Goslings Rum station, Mother Nature did her own rendition throughout the afternoon.  But the party went on…
