to meet Miami-Dade County’s recently elected office holders, Marist alums were ready to acknowledge one of their own, “red fox” Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz. Sheriff Rosie received her B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from Marist in 1991.

As Sheriff Rosie was called to the podium to speak, Marist alums surprised her, presenting a Marist pennant and alumni swag. She jubilantly called out: “the Red Foxes!.”

Pictured are: Gabiel Fernandez, Office of the Tax Collector, Vicki L. Lopez, Miami-Dade Commissioner, Tomas Regalado, Property Appraiser, Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Miami-Dade Sheriff, and Alina Garcia, Supervisor of Elections.

Pictured are “RED FOX” ALUMS John Edward Smith (’65), Rosie Cordero-Stutz (’91) and Mike Flynn (’69). After Marist, both Smith and Flynn taught at Christopher Columbus High School in the late 1960s and early 70s’. Columbus follows the MARIST education tradition.
