With just less than one year away, on February 27th ChamberSOUTH hosted SuperBowl LIV Host Committee Chairman Rodney Barreto at the sold-out monthly General Membership Breakfast at the UM Watsco Center.

Chamber members and guests, including a large contingent of Christopher Columbus HS alum (in support of incoming Chair Mariano Martinez), got to hear from Rodney Barreto and the learn what the South Florida region can expect for the 2020 SuperBowl.

Barreto is a serial entrepreneur and a tireless advocate for the South Florida community. Many of his entrepreneurial efforts today have come to fruition through The Barreto Group, Inc. a diversified company specializing in corporate and public affairs consulting.  His influence in the community beyond his business is historic and wide-reaching.  A native to Miami, he is proud to give back to the community he loves in many different ways and across all sectors.

Attendees enjoyed previewing a video with 305, with Baretto entertaining an extensive Q&A session. Highlighing some points in planning for the SuperBowl, he noted the themed emphasis on the South Florida environment, NFL playdays, an extensive NFL Park in downtown Miami at Bayfront Park and other tri-county activities. An interesting fact that he pointed out is that a SuperBowl ticket passes hands four times before the big day!

Baretto, together with Miami area are no strangers to SuperBowl frenzy.   Miami is hosting the Super Bowl for a record-breaking 11th time,   Rodney has been actively involved with the Super Bowl since 1989 and holds his own Super Bowl record by chairing both the 2007 and the 2010 South Florida Super Bowl Host Committees and now his third, the 2020 Super Bowl.
