GET CRACKIN’

Well, I love pistachios and enjoy the commercials inviting viewers to “get crackin’.” Here now in South Miami we have another take on “get crackin”  Recently opened in a 500 sq ft space right off Sunset Drive is a new approach to chiropractic services.  It’s call “SNAP CRACK®” founded by Mark Cereceda, D.C. who has been in practice for 30+ years.

It’s a unique modern “medical retail” (as I would characterize it) experience, in a casual and relaxing environment staffed with friendly chiropractors and courteous attendants You may have seen the yellow 1950s Ford truck or their tricycle with the great Snap Crack® branding.

Patient enjoys her treatment by one of the staff.

Physical and mechanical stress to the body may cause the vertebra to slightly move from their designated positions, causing compression on the major nerves that innervate all the organs and major functions of the body. Interference of the nervous system in this way can significantly decrease physical functionality and may result in substantial damage in the long run. Chiropractic adjustment shifts the entire vertebra back into their proper positions, relieving compression and allowing the nerves to signal throughout the body without interference. Chiropractic adjustments also open the space between the vertebra and joints, which allows a greater blood flow to the area. This promotes the body to heal itself by supplying the injured areas with the oxygen and nutrients it needs to begin repair. Subsequently, pain is reduced as compression is minimized and healing is initiated.

For the chiropractic adjustment, there’s a one-time single session $29 fee, and patients are seen promptly with their “no wait” policy. There are no membership fees, no commitments and no pressure. Meet the team and get crackin’.

SNAP CRACK® is located at 7209 SW 57th Court  |

Play and learning combine demonstrably well in the new modern indoor play studio recently opened at Sunset and US1.  Founded by Martha de la Fuente, a pediatric occupational therapist, the mission of Funkeynetics is to create a family-friendly play studio that allows families to connect through purposeful design play and quality learning experiences.

Playing are: Mom with Angelina (5 months) and Massimo, 4 years.

Martha notes that children learn through play with 95% of brain development by the age of five.  At Funkeynetics “we have curated a set of classes and workshops that recognize and engage all family members.  We balance a focus on early childhood development milestones with attention to the parental role and growth as a caregiver.” Funkeynetics age range of services is 3 months to 5 years.

Kaya, 18 months.

Martha received her Master’s Degree from FIU and is very familiar with the South Miami area; as a child would be here “all the time.”  South Miami was the choice location to open her first business.
