WHEELING AROUND
Members and guests at the ChamberSOUTH General Membership Breakfast on Friday, July 24th heard an informative and mesmerizing presentation by Herb Hiller of WHEELS Florida. WHEELS is an inaugural event planned for November 11-15 to bring together public transit, bicycling and walking initiatives in South Florida to improve our quality of life.
The breakfast was hosted by the ChamberSOUTH Transportation Committee and presented by South Florida Commuter Services and FDOT.
In her remarks to the guests, Suzell Hopman, Special Projects Manager for Commuter Services noted that South Florida motorists on average spend 16 hours, drive 600 miles and spend $645 a month. “We’ve got to change that dynamic and transform our lives,” says Herb Hiller.
