SOMIartwalk\u00a9<\/sup> is one-third of the six-month series now successfully presented.\u00a0 Unlike other areas which boast of many art galleries, South Miami has a unique take on presenting an artnight as area businesses open their doors to artists as well as on our tree-lined sidewalks.<\/p>\nPalmetto Elementary School Jazz Ensemble performing on Sunset Drive.\n

Held on the second Friday (6-9p) of the month, from October through March, Art Night visitors walking through our town center get to appreciate the visual and performing arts while also appreciating the uniqueness of our charming retail business establishments. \u00a0 Art Night Ambassadors distribute Art Night maps to visitors walking our sidewalks.<\/p>\n

As South Miami is a more family-oriented community, many locations on sidewalks will showcase art and musical performances by area students.<\/p>\nDiana Herrera showcasing on Sunset Drive.\n

This season, six different area restaurants will each host one night for an \u201cAfter Artwalk Party\u201d with special offerings to artwalk attendees.\u00a0 Your artwalk map will be your pass; and each night of artwalk, FOX\u2019s will host a late night party (10p-1a).<\/p>\nShowcasing at the Wirtz Gallery in November were four area artists: Cate Breit, Judy Hendel, Jean Baruolo and Penny Thurer.\n

SOMIartwalk\u00a9<\/sup> is co-presented by Chamber South, the City of South Miami and SOMI Magazine.\u00a0 The event is sponsored in part by Aurum Collections, Chamber South, First National Bank of South Miami, Le Macaron, Massage Envy\/Spa, Plaza 57, Sergio\u2019s Printing, SoMi SoU Boutique, TCMC, Inc., The Dog from Ipanema, The Shops at Sunset Place.\u00a0 Media sponsors are: 89.7 Classical South Florida, WDNA 88.9 FM Radio, Community Newspapers|South Miami News, and SOMI Magazine.<\/p>\n
