VACANT STORE FRONT HAS BECOME A MECCA FORARTISTIC EXPRESSION.

On a recent Friday evening, the vacant storefront located at 5822 Sunset Drive became a showcase exhibit for artists and designers. The POP-UP gallery is the brainchild of Luigi Vitalini and Cristina Villamil of Aneyediary. From “B.C.” (Before COVID) times the two had presented many periodic exhibits. And now that people are more comfortable moving about in settings like a gallery, the event has returned.

Guests were greeted to the subliminal sounds of Keysel & Azul performing Medicine Folk music. Inside seven artists exhibited and light refreshments served.

Highlights of the works of these artists and designers: Mario Ceccarelli, with modular landscapes, cityscapes and portraits on a wide array of surfaces; Jesse Jackson, analog photography printed with the silver gelatin process; Rafael Lopez-Ramos with abstractions in acrylic, collage and objects on different surfaces as plywood, corrugated cardboard and canvas; Neil Paterson’s building facades and details of odd science fiction and old machinery, with wood covered and plexiglass models; Natasha Perdomo, with wall sculptures, 3D pieces made from semi-precious stones, welded metal and glass objects placed on a wooden box; Nina Plot’s watercolors of landscapes from California, Florida and Wisconsin, also from her native Venezuela; Todd Wilson with one of a kind design pieces made out of metal, wood and found objects, an homage to discard.
