Representatives from the South Miami Police Department and Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue were honored at the September 11th Chamber South Networking Luncheon.<\/p>\n

Two of SMPD\u2019s officers Lt. Larry Corbin and Lt. John Barzola were part of the SMPD Response Team providing support to NYPD following the tragic events of that fateful September.\u00a0 Pictured above are (L-R): Lt. Larry Corbin, Lt. John Barzola, Fire Rescue Station 14 Chief Patrick Rowan, South Miami City Manager Stephen J. Alexander, Acting SMPD Police Chief, Major Ren\u00e9 Landa, and Fire Rescue Lt Ralph Fernandez.<\/p>\n

Later that evening, SMPD\u2019s Corbin and Barzola were recognized at the Miami Marlins baseball game and presented with signed honorary game baseballs.\u00a0 Sgt. Henry Guzman entertained the crowds and a national\u00a0viewing audience with his singing of\u00a0\u201cGod Bless America.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t
