SPRING 2014 COLOR TRENDS

It seems like just yesterday we were packed in our coats, donning scarves and boots; and can you believe we’re back to ideal beach weather?! Luckily, we are blessed to live in a pretty temperate city, excluding those couple of chilly weeks we get during the winter months. When it comes to following the fashion trends, one of the most important things is to opt for the right colors. Not only for those which are in vogue, but also for the shades that accentuate your natural beauty. Read on to find out about the hottest color palettes for the warm seasons ahead, and see what fits your taste the most!

White will forever remain a staple. This color is considered to be a representation of innocence and purity; however, some of the outfits we saw coming down the runway were far from that. I was very much impressed by the selections presented by DKNY, Versace, and Nina Ricci. Fun and flirty, the collections were delicate yet enchanting with their elegant use of color. To make a bold statement, consider pairing turquoise and yellow gold jewelry to accessorize, the marriage of these two gives any simple clean white outfit a chic Mediterranean look. Shades of olive green were also seen alongside the crisp white looks of Burberry Prorsum, Guy Laroche, Calvin Klein and 3.1 Phillip Lim. An ode to Greek gardens and Roman wreaths; we forecast this color to be one of the hottest and favorited trend colors of the season. It seems to be the bright and moderate hue of the color that is driving everyone wild. After a whole season of shocking neon colors, it’s a pleasant surprise to see the calmness of this greenish-yellow shade. For those of you, who adore sour taste and yellow color, cheer up! ZESTY shades of lemon were also spotted on the runways for Spring/Summer 2014. Designers showcased adorable pieces in this saucy color. One particular pant suit show cased at DKNY was all the rage; very elegant itself, but the creative color makes it even more desirable. ideally paired with a blend of gold and organic toned accessories, we can’t seem to turn our eyes away from its effortless simplicity.

To counter the purity of white and neutral palettes, Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, and Gucci, offered another extreme of the color spectrum by showcasing outfits that looked like liquid GOLD. A tribute to the early 80s era of glitz and glam; a Disco inspired color palette is what you are invited to check out. Doubtful that there is any need to elaborate on its prestige, designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino would definitely agree with me when I say that this rich and royal color shines under the flash of strobe lights and disco balls. Paired with fun, chunky, and statement accessories your look should say “Bianca Jagger, I’m ready for a night out on the town!” For now, we have a chance to drool over fabulous pieces, designed either completely or partly in gold color. If you are a fan of bright and catchy outfits GOLD is the color for you!
