\"DSC_5080\"The City of South Miami, called \u201cthe city of pleasant living\u201d just got more pleasant for some of our four-legged canine friends.<\/p>\n

The long-sort after park by Vice Mayor Walter Harris, was finally realized on Friday, February 20th as the ribbon was cut on the 5,000 square foot park adjacent to the Elks lodge.\u00a0 The construction was completed under the $25,000 budget, thanks to donations of equipment, labor and services.\u00a0 Commissioner Robert Welsh marshaled other volunteers to help build the park, installing fence posts and planting trees.<\/p>\n

Residents and dog lovers showed up for the opening event.\u00a0 Volunteers baked breads, brownies, pasta dishes and served up coke and\u00a0Kool-Aid.\u00a0 No hot dogs were\u00a0eaten though.<\/p>\n
