Its rising popularity brings its ever growing fame in an array of colors and printswith brands like Chanel, Fendi, and Burberry  embracing its glossy waterproof appeal.

With a bright and summer-ready appeal to a classic picnic style throw, the heritage of the “Check” has spread far and wide from its recognizable origins at Burberry. Fashion houses abroad like Sonia Rykiel, Victoria Beckham, and Balenciaga have adopted its classic and traditional look in reconstructed versions with highly stylized silhouettes. A far reach from its wooly inner linings of trench coats and puffer jackets, this summer we see the “check” in feminine form accompanied with suitable wear-ability. Keep an open eye for gingham squares and plaid textiles that are thrown in the mix.

If the catwalks are anything to go by, this season the shows were awash with vibrant and bold shades to suit any wardrobe. Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney showed beautiful collections in solid and bold primary and secondary colors. While the creative team at Calvin Klein put together a hodge-podge of the previously discussed styles that made for one editorially inspired runway show.
