GalaVerde 2016, South Florida’s LEEDership and Green Awards Program awarded South Miami Mayor
Philip K. Stoddard with the Most Outstanding Green Elected Official at its annual gala held on October 29 at the LEED Silver Hilton West Palm Beach.
On Tuesday October 25 2016, SMPD Officer Serguey Hernandez was named Officer of the Quarter by the South Miami Rotary. Hernandez was recognized for his work in the South Miami business district since being assigned to the newly formed Downtown Walking Beat Unit. Pictured with Officer Hernandez are: Chief Rene Landa, Subrata Basu, President of the South Miami Rotary, Capt. John Barzola, and Capt. Larry Corbin.
The artist jury of the ChamberSOUTH South Miami Arts Festival named Nathalie Torres of Kissimmee, Florida as “BEST IN SHOW” at the 45th annual arts festival held on the first weekend in November.
